RALLY OF THE TALL PINES

The final round of the North American Rally Championship takes place this coming weekend at the Rally of the Tall Pines (http://www.tallpinesrally.com) based out of Bancroft, Ontario. The gruelling single-day/12-hour event features 192km of gravel (or ice/snow?) stages with 304km of law abiding transits. In addition, our live vehicle tracking will once again be operational during the entire trip, including live tracking of the rallycar during the event itself. The direct link is http://www.aprs.fi/VE4JPZ Once there, you'll want to go into the "preferences" section and set the timezone. There will be dead spots, but, our location will be updated whenever we are within range of a repeater/tower.

Although only in our 3rd year of competition, this event marks our 25th event start, with only a single DNF(crash) to date. With the race for the championship behind us, we know the competition at Tall Pines will be tough and plan do to whatever it takes to end the season with a 5th consecutive win for Mitsubishi. On that note, many thanks to Mitsubishi Canada, Boisvert Mitsubishi, Racing Performance Works Australia and our associate partners for all of their help in turning dreams into reality.

Performance Rallying is considered by many as the most extreme form of automobile motorsport and it’s often described simply as "real cars, real roads, real fast." This all-season motorsport sees drivers and their co-drivers taking modified street-legal cars to the absolute limit as they achieve blistering speeds over challenging closed-road courses that typically cover more than 170 kilometers of gravel, dirt or snow-covered roads. Fans can get up close to the cars in the service areas and catch all of the action from specially designated spectator points located at the best spots on the route with competitors often reaching speeds of well over 160 kph.

The Canadian Association of Rallysport (CARS) is the official sanctioning body for rallying in Canada and the premier rally series, the Canadian Rally Championship (CRC), comprising of six events across the country, spanning from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean in New Richmond, Quebec to the mountains of Merritt, BC.
